Hey SIMCies! We are back with our Alumni Thursday 😊
Today we’ll tell you what
Michael Wlaschitz has been up to the last year.

Which intake were you a part of?
2015

Which country are you from?
Austria

What are you doing right now?
Sitting in a Uber coming back to the office from a client meeting.

After the completion of SIMC, did you look for specific jobs or were you flexible regarding different opportunities?
I was pretty flexible, however knew that I want a job with strong team work, constant learning opportunities, an international focus as well as fair working hours.

How did you decide, whether to apply for a corporate position or join the Start-up scene?
I looked for job ads and found innovation consulting more appealing than corporate jobs.

What is your current job position?
Innovation Consultant at Pioneers Discover, the consulting arm of Pioneers.

How did you get your job?
Apply, 3 interviews, done.

What is the most fascinating thing about your job?
Daily new challenges and a great variety of content-wise as well as task-wise different projects.

What do you do on a typical working day?
There is no typical work day, but I would probably scout some startups, plan and organize events for our corporate partners or have calls with clients regarding project updates.

What are the five most important things you learnt once you started working?
1. It is your responsibilty to drive towards your future and when you take your career in your own hands, work feels like pleasure.
2. You can do it, everything!
3. Structure is „die halbe Miete“ of working.
4. Relationship building is as important as hard work.
5. Simcies have received a great education and are well deserved positioned in great roles in the Austrian economy.

Is there any other advice you’d like to give to our current as well as future SIMCies?
Stay true to yourself and live your own life – it is the only one you have.

What are your best memories of SIMC?
Too many to count or summarize.
