From March 2 to March 4, 2018, 131 highly motivated SIMCies from 7 different intakes headed towards the slopes of the SkiAmade skiing area in Flachau, Salzburg. It was not only a record breaking skit rip in terms of participants, but also in terms of the outstanding endurance of most of the SIMCies regarding après ski. Next to the Gipfelstadl on top of the mountain (see picture below), Dampfkessel, Hofstadl and Musistadl were basically all conquered by us.
30 people were dancing on bar tables that were supposed for 10 people standing around it at Dampfkessel, while 70-80 SIMCies got rid of their ski boots for cheering “Sie hatte nur noch Schuhe an”. Some SIMCies even showed that they are smart and responsible drinkers by using a back protector while dancing and drinking at dizzying table heights.
Apart from the two very intense evenings with proper après skiing, we obviously also had loads of fun on the mountains by skiing down the slopes. The fresh alpine air and the perfect weather not only allowed us to recover quickly from the party nights, but also enabled us to refill our Vitamin D household by relaxing in the sun.
To make such an event happen, you always need people organizing it, which is why we would like to especially thank Philipp Bauhofer, who helped us significantly with the organization. Additionally, we would also like to thank the team of Jugendgästehaus Stadler in Flachau, who hosted us for the weekend and who were also very supportive by giving us the whole hotel for our own. Last but not least, we would love to thank all of you that have joined us and made this flabbergasting ski trip so special. Without your contribution the ski trip would not be possible – keep up the great SIMC spirit.
PS: As an outlook for next year, we are happy to announce that we have already fixed a location, since we are heading to Schladming. In Schladming, we will sleep at the JUFA Schladming, which is directly located next to the Tenne, which is the cathedral of apres ski in Europe. Thus, please SAVE THE DATE 28.2.2019 – 3.3.2019.
See you in Schladming in 2019!
